Hudson selectmen, residents fear environmental impacts of proposed powerline

Hudson - Hudson Selectman John Parent told his constituent Brian O’Neill at a public meeting on June 5 that he wanted to ensure that their relationship was not adversarial. Though O’Neill himself said their relationship had been “combative,” his advocacy group Protect Hudson and the Hudson Board of Selectmen have since found common ground. Both groups now publically fear the environmental impacts of Eversource Energy’s proposed power line running under nine miles of partially forested land between Hudson and Sudbury.

Three towns hold annual elections

Region – Low voter turnout was reported as three local towns held their annual town elections May 9. In Southborough, there were two contested races. Stephen Morreale received 493 votes to win the position of moderator defeating Desiree Aselbekian who received 182 votes and William J. Boland, who received 161 votes. Meme Lutrell defeated Craig Nicholson, 561-272, for a seat on the Planning Board.
