Northborough business owners concerned over proposed sign restrictions

Northborough – "You need to help them. You as a board need to help them." The words of small business owner John Fouracre seemed to echo the consensus of those gathered at the Northborough Planning Board meeting on March 5, where the board heard residents and fellow business owners express their concerns to a proposed change in the zoning by-laws that would limit the way businesses can use temporary signage in town.

Northborough color guard participates in POW/MIA Day

Northborough - On the third Sunday of September, a special ceremony is held aboard the battleship USS Massachusetts in Battleship Cove, Fall River, to honor those members of the military who are still considered prisoners of war or missing in action (POW/MIA). The event is sponsored by the American Legion's POW/MIA committee. At this year's POW/MIA Day held Sunday, Sept. 16 the color guard from the American Legion Vincent F. Picard Post 234 in Northborough had the honor of presenting the colors at the beginning of the ceremony. The event is sponsored by the American Legion's POW/MIA committee.

Local teacher to run Boston Marathon for Project Hope

Northborough/Grafton - People run for many reasons. People run when they are being chased. Children run while playing tag and other games. Many run for exercise and that euphoric “runner’s high” that we so often hear about. Marathon runners are in a class by themselves. They are extremely dedicated and train hard and run to be a part of something big.

Northborough educator gets pleasantly surprised for her efforts

Northborough – On Oct. 1, over 1,000 educators nationwide were surprised to learn their school principal nominated them to receive $1,000 worth of classroom supplies for the seventh annual "A Day Made Better."
