Northborough – The First Parish Church Unitarian Universalist of Northborough, always a busy place, hosted a special group of visitors Nov. 15 to 20 - seven Tibetan Buddhist monks from Gaden Jhamtse, South India. The church's minister, the Rev. Dr. Judith E. Wright, said the monks visit was arranged at the suggestion of parishioner Jeff Bailey, who runs a meditation group at the church.

This year, on Aug. 5, Walter and Phyllis Munyon celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. The couple was married in St. Luke's Church in Hudson in 1939 just before the United States became involved in WWII. In 1941 they moved from Hudson to Berlin.

Northborough - Capital budget purchases were the crux of a presentation by Town Administrator John Coderre at the March 12 Board of Selectmen meeting. The capital budget for fiscal year (FY) 2013 is the first year of Northborough's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), a six-year strategy proposing expenditures to be voted on at yearly Town Meetings.
Northborough – The Northborough Senior Center hosted a Men's Breakfast May 10, followed by a presentation from Lt. Col. Steve Johnson, who shared photos and facts about his 25 months in Iraq. Johnson has been a Northborough resident for over 25 years and recently retired from Raytheon, where he worked for 29 years. He retired from the military as a lieutenant colonel in October 2009, after 36 years of service. After serving in Vietnam in 1972 and the first Gulf war in 1991, he was also sent to Iraq in 2003.
