Northborough - When Northborough resident Rebecca Putnam was approached by Kate Butler, founder of Dignity Matters, to join the board of the new nonprofit organization that collects feminine hygiene products and undergarments for women and teenage girls in need, she immediately stepped up and became treasurer, as well a volunteer at collection drives.

No tax impact for Northborough's proposed capital budget items

Northborough - In addition to $15 million to fund the Lincoln Street School project, voters at Town Meeting this month will be asked to approve an additional $3 million in capital projects that will be funded at no direct cost to taxpayers. Town Manager John Coderre presented the Board of Selectmen April 14 a proposed capital budget plan for Fiscal Year 2015 that includes $940,000 in municipal spending and $2.1 million in water and sewer projects.

Northborough citizens want bylaw changes for use variances, solar farms

Northborough - When Wegmans opened its 130,000-square-foot store in Northborough in 2011, it brought more visitors to the region than any other place in Massachusetts, according to the Metrowest Visitors Bureau. The store was able to open thanks to a variance in the town's zoning. If a proposed amendment to the town's zoning bylaw passes at a special Town Meeting Monday, Oct. 28, such variances will be a thing of the past.

Northborough – Twelve dancers from Dawn’s School Dance recently received an invitation after the Elite Dance Challenge to participate in the Gerber Broadway dance dream tour in New York City.
