The 2017 Spirit of Shrewsbury Fall Festival has closed out another successful celebration. Warm weather drew crowds of near record numbers to the annual Town Expo and Craft Fair.
Region – When Amazon announced it was accepting bids for its second headquarters, it set off a frenzy among hopeful cities from Seattle to Austin and from Boston to Toronto. Among the 238 bids the company received was one from a locale dubbed “495 CROSSROADS,” the five-community partnership between Marlborough, Hudson, Northborough, Southborough and Westborough.
Worcester – Over the past two decades, local hockey fans enjoyed the opportunity to watch professional hockey in Worcester, first with the Ice Cats and then the Sharks. Each team played for approximately 10 years before disbanding. Now, fans are eagerly welcoming a new team – the Worcester Railers.

Northborough - Now that the long, arduous process of purchasing White Cliffs is complete, the town’s residents are asking “What’s next?” for the historic manse.
With the many pros and cons regarding proposed field lights, one thing that can’t be disputed is hard core financials. The Stadium Renovation budget (w/out Lights) is $3.5 million. Lights come with a $400,000 price tag. Another $12.5 million for a new Pre-K building is being proposed.
Westborough –There is something special, for both a team and its fans, when football is played at night. But while many enjoy the experience, for those who live close to the field, it is not always as pleasant. As Westborough voters prepare to decide at the Monday, Oct. 16 Town Meeting if lights should be installed at Westborough High School, both sides have been sharing their opinions on the issue.
No matter how you feel about President Donald Trump, one thing is for certain – he’s not one to shy away from controversy. Whether the topic is international relations, battles with political foes or core issues such as healthcare and immigration, his often fiery rhetoric through Twitter and the mainstream media has helped reveal some surprisingly deep divisions in our nation.
On behalf of our entire Westborough 300th Anniversary Committee and the Grande Parade Planning Committee, we would like to say a great big “THANK YOU” to the many organizations, businesses, and individuals who contributed to the immense success of our Town’s celebration on September 10. After more than a year of diligent planning, our Grande Parade did not disappoint!
What an awesome parade! With all the political unrest in this country, uncertainty in world affairs, and devastating storms ripping through our neighbors’ yards to the far south, the Westborough parade was an exciting diversion for us.
