Shrewsbury - Most high school students have difficulty finding a career focus as they prepare to enter college. This was not the case, however, for Shrewsbury resident Monica Mansfield. From an early age, she knew with great clarity that she wanted to become a veterinarian.

Marlborough, Shrewsbury head to Cheerleading Nationals

Marlborough/Shrewsbury - It was a day filled with loud music, louder cheers, acrobatic flips, scintillating stunts, dozens of teams, hundreds of cheerleaders, dancers and spectators, and more than eight hours of competition and routines at Marlborough, Shrewsbury head to Cheerleading Nationals (SHS) Nov. 20. In the end, the cheerleading teams from Marlborough High School (MHS) and SHS both received bids to Nationals. MHS and SHS finished 7th and 8th out of more than 15 teams in a competitive Division 1 field. MHS cheerleading coach Adrienne DeGeorge spoke about her team's performance despite the loss of a key performer earlier this fall.

Southborough celebrates 34th Santa Day

Southborough - Hundreds of kids and their families celebrated the 34th annual Santa Day in Southborough Dec.3. Each year Santa arrives via helicopter on the St. Mark's School lawn and then spends several hours visiting with local children across the street at the Community House. The event is a fundraiser for the Southborough Kindergroup, a cooperative play group for preschoolers and their parents.
