Southborough mom, dancer, conservationist wins award

Southborough - Meme Luttrell began dancing at age five when her mother, Terre Burke, was talked into teaching ballet to the neighborhood children. In 1966, Burke founded the Acton School of Ballet at the Minuteman Building on Windsor Avenue in Acton. The school is still in existence. Luttrell's love for dancing has not waned over the years. Instead, it has become an integral part of her life, offering her a refuge from the chaos of every day.

Supporting artists with autism raises funds for Southborough school

Southborough – Since last year, artwork has been displayed and sold in a gallery with proceeds going to charities including the New England Center for Children (NECC), a school in Southborough whose mission is to transform the lives of children with autism worldwide through education, research and technology. Some of the artwork is created by NECC students and other pieces by contributing artists.

495/MetroWest Compact presents findings of study

Region - In a Nov. 15 meeting held at Nevins Hall in Framingham, members of the 495/MetroWest Development Compact presented the findings of a regional study aimed at improving growth and development in communities within the Interstate 495 corridor. This meeting was a follow-up to a series of regional forums in which data from the public were collected, and compiled with existing information to create regional growth scenarios.
