Shrewsbury defeats ARHS in football

Northborough - The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks played host to the Shrewsbury High School Colonials on Sept. 12 in a lightning-shortened game. The Colonials scored first and made the two-point conversion and then scored two more times in the first half (missing the conversion on the second touchdown and making a point-after kick on the third touchdown). After a weather delay due to lightning, the game resumed but only briefly before more severe lightning and rain suspended the game just after the start of the second half with the score 21-0 ahead of the Tomahawks.

Westborough tops Lexington, takes home Division II badminton title

Westborough - Westborough High School won the Division II 2014 Massachusetts Badminton Association (MassBad) Championship March 2 at Boston Badminton in Westborough. Eleven teams representing 14 Massachusetts high schools participated, including Algonquin Regional, but the border-town rivals did not face off. Algonquin did not reach the playoff rounds.

Grafton Indians boys’ lacrosse defeats Shrewsbury Colonials

Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury High School Colonials hosted the Grafton High School Indians on April 19. Grafton's Cole Fontana scored the first goal quickly at the 11:12 mark while Shewsbury's first goal wasn't scored until the second quarter by Alec Buduo. The Indians lead 8-2 at the end of the first half and came out firing in the third quarter, going on to defeat the Colonials 14-4.
