Golf outing to support Northborough’s 250th at historic Juniper Hill course

Northborough - Northborough’s 250th Anniversary Committee is gearing up for its golf outing Friday, Sept. 11, at Juniper Hill Golf Course. This is a fundraiser which will help to defray costs of upcoming events and activities being planned to celebrate Northborough’s milestone throughout 2016. The cost of the golf outing is $125 per person and the price includes entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, breakfast, dinner and various awards. The awards presentation, dinner and auction will be held directly after golf. Non-golfers are invited to attend the dinner for $30 per person.

Westborough – A team of young swimmers, Evolution Aquatics, is inviting the public to join them in a special fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Westboro Swim & Tennis Club, 35 Chauncy St. The second annual “All in to Swim” is a relay swim event that will bring together swimmers of all ages and abilities together to help raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Summer basketball league helps players gear up for season

Region - There is always room for improvement in any sport, the experts say, and the game of basketball is no exception. Hence the creation of the Crompton Kingsway Basketball League, a 12-team summer league comprised of players from area high schools that play from early June through July at Worcester’s Crompton and Greenwood parks. The teams play hard with winning as a goal, but the underlying objective is to sharpen skills and build chemistry for the upcoming season.
