Shrewsbury pays tribute to its spirited residents over age 90

Shrewsbury – For the eighth year, a special viewing area was stationed in front of the Town Hall for the Spirit of Shrewsbury (SOS) Fall Festival Parade Sept. 28. Seated under a tent were residents over age 90 and their guests. Following the parade, they were invited to attend an Over 90 Tribute Tea at the Shrewsbury Senior Center.

Motorcyclists honor one of their own

Westborough – Approximately 135 motorcyclists gathered Sept. 20 for an event to honor the late Michelle "Shelly" Barnes Hendrix. Hendrix, a Westborough native, was killed along with her longtime partner Kirk Arsenault of North Reading, when the motorcycle trike they were riding on was hit from behind by a tractor trailer while the two were traveling in Indiana in May 2014.

Sun shines on Westborough’s Arts in Common

Westborough – Although it was rainy for several of this event’s early years, there wasn’t a cloud in sight Sept. 27 at the Bay State Green when the Westborough Cultural Council celebrated its sixth annual Arts in Common. Throughout the six-hour arts festival, 23 acts presented music, dance, theater, comedy and poetry on two stages. Over 40 artisans displayed and sold handcrafted items. Refreshments were available from local eateries.
