Maybeck leaving Trinity for storytelling ministry

Northborough ??" Ask Rev. Cynthia Maybeck, the outgoing minister at Trinity Church in Northborough, what she means by Biblical Storytelling, and she's quick to come with an example: Recounting Mark 5:25, she tells the story of a woman healed by touching Christ's garment. At times, miming actions of the woman, gesturing with her arms outstretched, her voice flows naturally – speaking conversationally and dramatically, and ending the passage with a small and humble smile. It's easy to see how a listener could feel transported to a time 2,000 years ago.

Shrewsbury couple offer support to families with autism

Shrewsbury - Life with autism can be a roller coaster ride of exhilarating moments and sudden plunges into despair. Wayne and Kelly Carey have experienced all of this as they have learned to deal with autism, which affects their three sons. Although there is a wide spectrum of what is considered autistic behavior, many times it can often be characterized by difficulties with social interaction, communication, and imagination. Those who are autistic may have restricted and repetitive interests and behaviors. Younger children who have been diagnosed with autism often focus on parts of toys, such as the wheels on a car, or make long lines of pieces, rather than playing with the entire toy. Some people tend to "stim" (flap their hands), rock, and avoid eye contract. They may not be empathetic to others and may completely miss clues on what the general population may consider "normal" social behavior.
