Marlborough - A neighbor's persistence, a mayor's vision and the hard work of a local Eagle Scout candidate and municipal employees and volunteers have all paid off as the city of Marlborough officially opened a new trail on Lake Williams Oct. 18.
The new trail, which is approximately one- mile long, starts in a small area adjacent to the Marlborough District Court, across from Williams Street. It then skirts along part of Lake Williams before it loops back to the start.

New Hampshire nonprofit to help locals get back on financial track
Marlborough – Those of us who have automobiles tend to take them for granted. But for many central Massachusetts residents, the dream of owning a car is out of reach, perhaps because of little to no savings, low employment wages, a prolonged illness or bad credit. As a result, commuting to jobs, schools, medical care, and shopping for necessities, is often frustrating and stressful.
Westborough High mourns its ‘angel’

Those were just some of the messages written by Westborough High School (WHS) students to the family of Lizzi Marriott, who graduated from the school in 2011. Lizzi was allegedly murdered by a New Hampshire man Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Westborough honors Lizzi Marriott
Westborough - In a solemn candlelight ceremony tonight held at the Bay State Commons, hundreds of Westborough residents gathered to honor the memory of one of their own, Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott.
Earlier in the day, the New Hampshire attorney general's office said Marriott, 19, who had been missing since Tuesday night, Oct. 9, was dead. Although her body has not yet been found, a New Hampshire man, Seth Mazzaglia, has been arrested in connection with her death. Marriott was a native of Westborough who had been living with her aunt in Chester, NH while she attended the University of New Hampshire.
