Westborough selectmen discuss $4 million ‘underride’ request

Westborough – The Board of Selectmen discussed the possible ramifications of a $4 million Proposition 2-1/2 "underride" at its March 1 meeting at the request of one local resident. But that discussion was curtailed for a few minutes when the proponent of that proposal, Len Mead, got into a heated argument with the board and was escorted out of the room by Police Chief Alan Gordon.

Corridor Nine to host annual Business Expo

Westborough - In just a few weeks, over 100 businesses and 1,300 visitors are expected to converge at the Doubletree Hotel in Westborough for the annual Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. Public invited to hike new Westborough Trail

Westborough – The public is invited to join Westborough Community Land Trust’s Marge Fisher to catch a lovely autumn view of Gilmore Pond Sunday, Oct. 18 from 1:30-3 p.m. Then the group will walk a new trail through wooded uplands and along stone walls to see the fall foliage in the Libbey/Wile forest before looping back.

Westborough to raise plumbing, gas fees

Westborough - The town of Westborough has been charging substantially less for plumbing and gas fees than surrounding communities. As a result, Building Commissioner Tin Htway presented a proposal to the selectmen at their July 12 meeting that would raise those fees to be more in line with what other towns are charging. After a brief discussion, the board agreed to approve the proposal.
