Westborough school district to present “Race to Nowhere”

Westborough – Just about everyone would agree that growing up nowadays is not like it used to be. Kids are under pressure to excel at an early age in school, sports and extracurricular activities. And many do. But many others struggle, sometimes with terrible consequences.

Selectmen approve early voting requests for upcoming elections

Westborough – Town Clerk Wendy Mickel, at the July 19 Board of Selectmen’s meeting, requested the board allow early voting at Town Hall and approve an early voting tabulation location. She also sought approval of the use of the DS200 voting scanner in the Town Hall as the central voting and tabulation facility for the Nov. 8 Presidential election and all future state and federal general elections. Mickel stated that “the secretary of state of the commonwealth has already determined that Town Hall as the most logical location.”

Westborough volunteers come together to help Gingras family

Westborough – A Westborough family has gotten an early holiday gift thanks to volunteers from two local churches and a local foundation – a ramp that will allow them easier access in and out of their Steven Road home. In June 2011 Jim Gingras Jr. was in a devastating motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down.
