Blood drive honors Westborough student
May 11 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Westborough – The Congregational Church of Westboro and the American Red Cross are teaming up for their 13th blood drive Saturday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the church, 57 W. Main St. The drive is held in honor of Corinne Sciarappa, a Westborough High School senior who continues her courageous fight against rhabdomyosarcoma as she prepares to graduate. She has received nearly 200 units of blood and platelets through her treatment.
Patients like Corinne rely on the generosity of blood donors; thanks to the support of the community, more than 1,000 blood donations have been collected in Corinne’s honor to date. There is currently an urgent need for blood, making this a particularly important time to donate. Right now, blood donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they are coming in.
Scheduling an appointment is highly recommended. Visit www.redcrossblood.org (sponsor code Corinne) or call 800-REDCROSS to sign up.
