HUDSON: UCMH opens season with Water Communion Service, live steelpan music
September 9 @ 10:30 am
Hudson – The Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson (UCMH) is pleased to open their fall 2018 season with a special Water Communion Ingathering and live steelpan music performance. The service takes place Sunday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m.
The Water Communion Ingathering is an annual tradition where participants honor the waters that touch our lives: rivers, oceans, lakes, and tears of joy and sorrow. UMHC also celebrates coming together after the summer months at this family worship service. Please bring water from a source you visited this summer or find sacred for this ceremony led by Rev. Alice Anacheka-Nasemann.
The service also features guest musician, Jeffery Clayton, and his joyful sounds of Caribbean steelpan drum. Clayton is of Jamaican heritage and was raised in Wellfleet. He has a distinguished musical career including 21 years of service with the U.S. Army Band and as a concert opener for Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney. Currently, he is a music teacher at Justice Resource Institute in Acton, the musical director of his own PanNeubean steel band, and a freelance musician on both trumpet and steelpan.
UCMH is located at 80 Main St. in downtown Hudson. For more information, visit www.ucmh.org, call 978-562-9180, or find them on Facebook.
