Northborough Library hosts photography series for beginners

Northborough – The Northborough Free Library, 34 Main St., is offering a new six-part series of classes on Beginning Photography on successive Tuesday evenings from 6:45-8:15 pm starting Tuesday, Feb. 5. The classes will be held in either the library’s Conference Room or the Main Meeting Room located on the main floor.
The classes are open to those aged 14 and older who are interested in learning the basics of photography. The classes will be taught by photographer Jeanine Vitale whose studio, Prism Point Photography, is located in Northborough. The following topics will be covered in the classes on the dates noted below:
Feb. 5 – Overview of photography basics; telling a story
Feb. 19 – Composition and point of focus
Feb. 26 – Dare to go manual; f-stop, shutter speed, ISO
March 5 – Lighting: artificial, natural and ambient
March 12 – Using PhotoShop basics to manipulate images
March 19 – Assembling your story; photography contests
NOTE: March 26 is being reserved as a snow date in case one of the scheduled classes needs to be postponed due to the weather.

The registration fee is $50 per person, payable in advance at the library’s Check-out Desk to The Trustees of the Northborough Free Library. Class size is limited, so early registration is encouraged!
