Hudson – The River’s Edge Arts Alliance (REAA) will be concluding its second annual Winter Concert and Performance Series with a concert by Celtic Roots featuring Mark Roberts, Laurel Martin, and Jim Prendergast Saturday, March 16, at the Hudson Town Hall, 78 Main St.
“We created this series last year to get people out during the dark, cold months and to bring the area’s best musicians right to downtown Hudson. This one is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day locally while still seeing absolutely top-notch performers,” said REAA Chief Administrative Officer Danielle Griggs.
The REAA is also hosting an informal gathering for River’s Edge Arts Alliance members at Medusa Brewing Company in Hudson that afternoon before the show, from 4:30-6 p.m. Register for the concert and for the reception at http://upwitharts.org/.
First organized over 25 years ago as the Hudson Area Arts Alliance, the current day River’s Edge Arts Alliance remains focused on providing affordable and accessible arts programming to the surrounding community.
The community is not only invited to attend performances and exhibits organized by River’s Edge Arts Alliance, but also encouraged to become involved as a member.
“There are a bunch of great ways for the public to get involved with REAA, as we produce a wide variety of programs across the full spectrum of the arts,” Griggs said. “We try to keep our registration fees low, so our programs and events are accessible to all. We also have a lot of public events each year, so attending one of those is a great way to get acquainted. We offer some great benefits to members, from discounts on some of our programs to discounts at some great local businesses – so becoming a member is a great way to get involved.”
Looking toward the warmer months, REAA offers great accessible programming for students interested in theater through its popular Summer Drama Workshop for first-graders to pre-college students at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School.
Local visual artists are also encouraged to become engaged with River’s Edge Arts Alliance through membership and their rotating themed exhibits showcasing local visual artist’s work. Artists have the opportunity to display their work through one of the exhibits at the Hudson Town Hall, Café 641, or Vintage Café, all located in Hudson.
