Shrewsbury – The ninth annual Turkey Trot for the Memory will be held at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning Thursday, Nov. 28, beginning on Shrewsbury Common. This five- and two-mile run/walk has raised over $150,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts. A form of dementia, Alzheimer’s is a fatal disease that afflicts one in six Americans over the age of 65. This annual town tradition attracts well over 1,800 participants annually of all ages and walks of life to walk, run and celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving and community while raising money for Alzheimer’s research, patient and family care, and educational programming.
Pre-Registration for the five-mile event guarantees a t-shirt and costs $25. The two-mile event is free, but a donations are encouraged.
