Shrewsbury Library opens new ‘Construction Site’ play area
June 10 @ 11:00 am
Shrewsbury – On Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m., the public is invited to the opening of the new “Construction Zone” play area in the Children’s Courtyard at the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St. The library will introduce the recently purchased Imagination Playground blocks, dramatic play construction gear and tools, all designed to extend the play and learning space into the library’s beautiful outdoor courtyard.
The library was recently awarded a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. This grant’s purpose is to promote early literacy through play by bringing speakers, activities, and new play equipment to the library. You will continue to see new services and materials in the Children’s Room throughout 2019.
This project is funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, with additional support from the Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library, Fontaine Bros., Inc., gifts received in memory of Mary Jordalen, and from Jack Slosky in memory of Ursula Kocemba-Slosky.
