Southborough – An Electronic and Appliance Recycle Day will take place at Saint Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd., Southborough, on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The following items will be accepted at the event, which will take place in the church’s parking lot: computer towers, scanners, VCRs, copiers, DVDs, stereo equipment, computer towers, lighting, vacuum, answering machines, fax machines, speakers, CDs, circuit boards, radios, modems, word processors, fans, video equipment, game consoles, Xboxes, etc., as well as tape players, typewriters (anything with a plug and more), all for $5 each. Items accepted for $10 each are dishwashers, dryers, stoves, microwaves, exercise equipment, lawn mowers, dehumidifiers, snow blowers, vacuums, and small engine items. Glass monitors, flat panel monitors, etc. will be accepted for $15 each; TVs from $15-$35; Air conditioners for $15; refrigerators from $20-$30; and scrap/junk metal for $10 per car load. Cables, keyboards, car batteries, and cell phones will be accepted for free.
Also included will be a no-fee Bicycle Recycle Day. Bring your unwanted old or new bicycle, including mountain bikes, road BMX, cruiser, and adult/child, so it can reused.
Our aim is to keep bikes from being thrown out when they can be reused. Bicycles can be picked up if you are unable to bring them to the recycling event. Contact Dennis Wood at 508-277-7513 for more information.
