Peter F. Thier, 69Marlborough – Peter F. Thier, 69, died Saturday June 11, 2011, after an illness of several months. Born and raised in Pecs, Hungary, he was the son of the late Franz and Edith (Molnar) Thier and the husband of Velvale (Chandler) Thier of Marlborough.

Mr. Their established Automotive Crafts, Inc. in Waltham, which he owned and operated until 2000, after moving to the U.S. in 1962 from Slazburg, Austria. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965, where he served as a welder.

Following his retirement, he had been employed by Triple AAA Limousine of Sudbury. He enjoyed all outdoor activities and spent much of his free time hiking and skiing, but loved being on the sea whenever possible.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Peter Thier and his wife, Cathleen, of Lancaster; his daughter, Michelle Thier of Marlborough; and his grandchildren, James Singletary and Julia and Lauren Thier.

Graveside services will be held Friday June 17, at 1 p.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson St., Marlborough. There will be no funeral home calling hours.
