Shrewsbury – Irene M. (Sklarz) Brunyak, 77, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2011 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, after an illness. Her husband, Walter F. Brunyak, died in 1995.
She is survived by her children, Donna Brunyak-Allen of Westport and Mark Brunyak and Michael Brunyak, both of Shrewsbury; four loving grandchildren; her brothers, Walter Sklarz of Worcester and Stanley Sklarz of Oxford; and her sisters, Helen Smith and Anne Rauer, both of Worcester, Rosemarie Coulard of Oxford and Jean Whittaker of California.
Born and raised in Worcester; she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Lizewski) Sklarz and a graduate of Commerce High School.
Mrs. Brunyak was a noted cook and gardener. She enjoyed spending time with family and taking trips to the casino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour Friday, Sept. 30, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home and then burial in Worcester County Memorial Park of Paxton.
