Primo J. Borella Jr., 78Hudson – Primo J. Borella Jr., 78, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol A. (Simoes) Borella of Hudson.

Born and raised in Marlborough, son of the late Primo J. and Thelma (Maurice) Borella, he attended local schools and was a 1953 graduate of Marlborough High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Borella and his wife, Carol, had resided in Hudson the past 50-plus years, and he was employed as a mechanic by the Continental/Hostess Baking Company in Natick for 33 years until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his two children, Carl Borella and his wife, Heidi, of Hudson and Karen Carraher and her husband, Michael, of Marlborough. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Borella of Vermont; his seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Borella.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 13, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Feb. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
