Clinton – Assabet Valley Mastersingers will celebrate a 35th Anniversary concert Saturday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fallon Memorial Auditorium of Clinton Town Hall. The special performance will feature opera, operetta, and Broadway standards with the AVM chorus and Elaine Crane, Christine Petkus, Richard Monroe, and David Bonneau of Greater Worcester Opera. Pianist Judy Yauckoes will provide accompaniment, and the ensemble will be led by AVM Founder and Artistic Director Robert Eaton.

The opera portion of the program will include famous choruses from Pagliacci, Il Trovatore, Don Pasquale, and La Traviata, in addition to the beautiful duet from Pearl Fishers by Bizet. The famous “Laughing Song” from Die Fledermaus will highlight the operetta segment along with solos, duets, and choruses from Merry Widow and Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado. Broadway will be represented by choruses from Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Brigadoon, Oliver, Candide and Children of Eden. The program should be a delight to all and a fitting tribute to 35 years of great choral music.

Traditional concert seating and Pops-style table seating will be available to the audience. At table seating on the floor of the auditorium the audience will be able to eat and drink with friends, enjoying hors d'seuvres and desserts included in the ticket price, with wine and beer available for purchase at the intermissions. A silent auction will be accessible to all concert goers. Traditional concert seating will be in the balcony, be fully accessible, and have an excellent view of the concert. Assistive listening systems, courtesy of Crossroads Community Foundation, are available at all concerts for use by hearing impaired audience members. Large print programs will be offered to those desiring enhanced readability.
