Each year there are millions of amputees nationwide that acknowledge the month of April as being Limb Loss Awareness month. Another 28 million people are at risk for an amputation. In order to raise the publics” awareness, the New England Amputee Association held its first annual Walk-a-thon.

We want to thank Orchard Hill Athletic Club for generously making available their inside walking track for this event. We would also like to thank Hannaford's Super Market and Polar Beverages for their donations.

A special thank you to Hanger Orthotics & Prosthetics staff and their families for walking with us to support our cause. Most of all we want to thank all the people that took part in our walkathon especially those that sponsored our walkers. Without you, this event would not have been so successful.

The success of this event has enabled New England Amputee Association to continue our out-reach programs for amputees and their families. As we endeavor to provide information and support while the amputee adjusts to living with limb loss.
