Ashland – Warren Heaps, owner of PowerTune/Ashland Discount Tire, will start up his 2,500 Horsepower NHRA Top Dragster Saturday, June 9, at 2:30 p.m., to kick-off the townwide Rediscover Ashland. Last weekend, Warren drove the car to a second-place finish at Maple Grove Raceway (Pennsylvania), a national event. The Dragster runs 225 miles per hour. Residents from Ashland and surrounding towns are invited to participate.
“I want to extend a big “thank you” to my customer's for voting PowerTune the #1 auto repair shop in the Readers” Choice Awards for 2011-2012,” said Heaps.
As a way of thanking his customers, Heaps will display his Top Dragster and other race cars at his business for the Rediscover Ashland kick-off day, as well as hand out treasures, Monday through Friday, June 11 to 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as part of the Rediscover Ashland Treasure Hunt. Grand prizes include $1,000 in cash.
