On this day in 1976, “The Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night,” by journalist Nik Cohn, was published in New York magazine. The article was considered the inspiration for the international hit movie, Saturday Night Fever.
And on this day in 2002, Michael Skakel, a nephew of Robert F. Kennedy's widow, Ethel, was convicted in the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley.
