Westborough – The towns of Westborough and Southborough will be holding a public auction on Saturday, June 30 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Westborough Department of Public Works (DPW) building, 131 Oak St.
Jack Blackmer, Auctioneer, will be running the event which will feature approximately 60 items up for auction including pick-up trucks, vans, cars, lawn mowers, snow plows, pressure washers and bicycles.
Much of the equipment is either town surplus or outdated parts that no longer fit on newer equipment, officials said. Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon said that occasionally the Police Department will find bicycles abandoned around town. If they are not claimed, the police then donate them to the public auction.
A preview viewing of the auction will be held on Friday, June 29 from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. at the DPW building.
Items may be purchased by cash, personal or business bank check or traveler's check. If paying by personal or business check, items cannot be removed before July 6. Separate checks must be made out to either the town of Westborough or the town of Southborough depending on what town the item is from.
