Hudson – Nidzazda C. “Nettie” Trakimas, 91, a former longtime resident of Hudson, currently residing in Worcester, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. She was the loving wife for 51 years to the late Benjamin R. Trakimas, who died in 1998.

Nettie was born and raised in Maynard, daughter of the late Wasily and Evdokia (Denesiuk) Chernak. She attended local schools and graduated with honors from Maynard High School in 1938. She worked various jobs and spent many years as an inspector with Data General Co. (now E.M.C. Corp.) in Southborough until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennie and Stephen Gray of Stow; her son, Alexander and Bobbi Trakimas of Worcester; her two sisters, Dorothy and Jennie Chernak, both of Maynard; and her brother, Wasil Chernak of Boxboro, and was the sister of the late Vera Crone and Alexander Chernak. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Shawn Gray of Clinton, Sheryl Brown of Millbury, Karen Gray of Stow, and Alicia and Amy Trakimas, both of Cape Cod; her seven great-grandchildren, Randall Castillo-Gray, Zachary and Mathew Gray, Skyla Brown, Ava and Breanna Kilella, and Andrew S. McHenry; and her nieces and nephew.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, at 10:00 a.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard. There are no calling hours.
