Westborough – “The Lemonade War” is one of the hottest chapter books series for elementary-aged children. On Sunday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. kids and their families will have a chance to meet the series” author, Jacqueline Davies, at Tatnuck Bookseller. Davies will be discussing the latest book in the series, “The Candy Smash.”
In this new book, fans will delight in the tale of Jessie and Evan Treski who have waged a lemonade war, sought justice in a class trial, and even unmasked a bell thief. Now they are at opposite ends over the right to keep secrets. Evan believes some things (such as his poetry) are private. Jessie believes scandal makes good news. When anonymously sent candy hearts appear in Class 4-0, self-appointed ace reporter Jessie determines to get the scoop on class crushes.
Davies has eight published children's books to her credit. Her books have won numerous awards, including the NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Book for Students K-12, the John Burroughs List of Nature Books for Young Readers, The Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award and have been on the New York Library's Best Books List.
