Obit Cheryl PrashawHudson – Cheryl L. (Woodworth) Prashaw, 52, of Hudson, passed away with her loving family by her side Sunday, April 14, 2013 at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lynn B. Prashaw of Hudson.

Cheryl was born in Framingham and is survived by her parents, Harris Woodworth of Marlborough and Bette (McLellan) Smith, wife of the late Kermit Smith of Ashland. She had been a longtime resident of Hudson and was a 1978 graduate of Assabet Valley Technical High School.

She was currently employed as a bus driver by McCarthy Bus Lines of Hudson.

Cheryl truly enjoyed and also took great pride in transporting her students over the past 10 years. She had a unique ability to make them special in her life, earning the respect of both her students and their families. They will truly miss her. Prior to her job with the bus company, she spent 20-plus years at the Butcher Wax Co. in Marlborough.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her two loving sons, Brandon and Trevor Prashaw of Hudson, and her three sisters, Cindy Durkee of Franklin, Wendy Donahue of Marlborough, and Betty Pratt of Westborough. She is also survived by her many relatives, nieces and nephews, and close friends.

Cheryl had many interests in her life, she enjoyed riding on the back of her husband's Harley Davidson motorcycle and they always looked forward to the several motorcycle charity ride events annually. She enjoyed relaxing and sunbathing on an ocean beach, especially vacationing at Old Orchard Beach, Maine with the family and the many day trips to Hampton Beach, N.H. She enjoyed shopping at yard sales, taking trips to Twin River Casino in Rhode Island and cruising in her corvette. Most of all, she cherished time with her family and the love she received from her two German shepherds she passionately cared for, “Wolf,” who died in September 2012, and currently “Brody.” Her kind and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service and celebration of Cheryl's life will be held Friday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cheryl may be made to the MSPCA-Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
