Marlborough ??” Marlborough Hospital lit its Tree of Light Dec. 16 while recognizing donors and staff who contributed to the hospital for the past century.

The hospital's Vice President of Development, Ellen Carlucci told attendees that the tree “honors everyone with a special relationship with Marlborough Hospital.”

The ceremony also marks 100 years since the hospital moved to its Union Street location.

“We want to thank our many supporters and acknowledge all the lives that have been touched over the past 100 years,” Carlucci said, in part, in a written statement. “Add up all the lives that have been cared for an treated at Marlborough Hospital and the number is astounding.”

The tree was officially lit by Marlborough Hospital President and CEO Steve Roach. Holiday music was provided by the a capella group Fireside Quartet.

Lights and other decorations that adorn the tree are gifts from patients, family members, employees, and friends of the hospital. Angel decorations may be purchased in memory of a loved one, and a star can be purchased to honor any hospital staff or employee. Snowflake decorations and lights represent gratitude to the hospital.

The hospital is selling decorations until this end of December, said Carlucci. For more information, call Carlucci at (508) 486-5807.
