Northborough – Thomas W. Cantwell passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health. He was 76.
He leaves his devoted wife of 46 years, Elizabeth E. (Neagle) Cantwell; his children, Mary F. Cantwell and Joseph N. Cantwell; and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Francis Cantwell, Ellen Healy, and John Cantwell.
Born in Somerville and raised in Belmont, he was the son of Francis J. and Lillian F. (McCarthy) Cantwell. He attended Sacred Heart Grammar School in Watertown, as well as St. John’s High School in Cambridge, and graduated from Newman Prep in Harvard Square.
Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he worked for Pepsi Co. in Natick from 1967-77. He went on to work for Anheuser-Busch for 28 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Teamsters Worcester Local #170.
Tom’s life revolved around his wife and children.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, from 4-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. The funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St. Burial with military honors will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
