Westborough – Thirty-six teams of three players figuratively donned their thinking caps and challenged themselves for the Westborough Education Foundation’s (WEF) seventh annual Trivia Bee, presented Nov. 3 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. Judging the antics were Library Director Maureen Ambrosino, Police Chief Alan Gordon and former Superintendent Marianne O’Connor. Serving as this year’s master of ceremonies was Town Moderator John Arnold.

The Westborough Youth Lacrosse Team, consisting of Chris Abeles, Jeff Garvey and Chris Palaima, received the trophy as trivia champs. The team sponsored by Marlborough Savings Bank, known as Bank of Thrones, were named Best Dressed. Awarded the Most Spirited was the team of Armstrong Elementary School Teachers.

Additional funds were raised with a silent auction and raffle, and the sale of pizza and desserts.

The Trivia Bee is the primary fundraiser of WEF, which provides funds for programs that aren’t covered by the school budget. In the 2014-2015 school year, WEF awarded $19,255 in grants. For more information about the nonprofit organization, visit westborougheducationfoundation.com.
