Berlin – Marlene K. Williams, 76, of Berlin, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at Oriol Health Care in Holden. She was the wife of Robert Vandy Williams, to whom she was married for 56 years.
Born in Dickson City, Penn., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Kriger) Klaus. She was educated in Dickson City schools and graduated from Dickson City High School. She has been a resident of Berlin for 15 years, previously living in Northborough for 25 years.
Marlene worked as a copy editor for the Parkinson’s Group in Clinton prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Westborough, a life member of the Northborough Garden Club, a member of the Berlin Seniors, and a member of the Friends of the Library.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Wachusett Unit staff and family at the Oriol Health Care in Holden for the loving and compassionate care provided to Marlene.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Chelley V. Tighe and her husband David of Fitzwilliam, N.H., Mauri L. Rand and her husband Robert of Westborough, and Leslie R. W. Hart and her husband Patrick of Harvard; one brother, Carl F. Klaus and his wife Ryan of Cresco, Penn.; and seven grandchildren, Caitlin Tighe, Kevin Tighe, Caroline Hart, Molly Hart, John P. Hart, Curtis Rand, and Nathaniel Rand.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 5-8 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
