Northborough – Andrea “Anne” D. (Jamieson) Persels passed away with her family by her side Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 72.
Anne leaves behind her three sons, Daniel Bittel Jr. of Harrisville, R.I., Brian Bittel of Northborough, and Eric Bittel and his wife Cindy of North Grafton; her daughter, Amy (Bittel) DuPont and her husband James of Hopkinton; seven grandchildren, Jessica Bittel, Matthew Bittel, Emma Bittel, Ava Bittel, Johanna DuPont, James DuPont, and Kaitlyn DuPont; two sisters, Mary Stanley of Paradise, Calif. and Charlotte Jamieson of Cherry Valley; and nine nieces and nephews.
Born in Harrisburg, Penn. and raised in Cold Spring, N.Y., she was the eldest daughter of Andrew and Edith (Dorman) Jamieson. She lived in San Jose, Calif. for 20 years before moving to Northborough 34 years ago. She also lived in Shrewsbury; Northport, L.I, N.Y.; Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; Glastonbury, Conn.; and Milford before recently returning to Northborough.
Anne graduated from Campbell High School in San Jose and went on to graduate from Lesley University in 1991. During the 1970s, she was a self-employed contractor and worked in the legal and medical transcription field. In the 1980s, she was employed at Digital Equipment Corp. as a product manager and most recently worked as a real estate agent for Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate Agency in Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
Her hobbies included needlepoint and interior decorating. She lived for her grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 14, from 5-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Her funeral will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m., in Hays Funeral Home. Private Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
