Southborough – The town of Southborough is the latest community to approve the first step in allowing a medical marijuana dispensary to be built in the town.
Recently the Board of Selectmen voted to sign a letter of non-opposition that would allow Commonwealth Cannabis Co. to go ahead with the next step in opening a facility at 255 Turnpike Road (Route 9). The plan must still be approved by the state’s Department of Mental Health.
Some residents are not happy with the proposed facility being located in the town, citing its close proximity to the Margaret A. Neary Elementary School. Others worry this type of business will adversely affect the property values of other businesses and residences.
