Obit Lorraine GalvinMarlborough – Lorraine C. (Perreault) Galvin, 75, of Marlborough, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, following a period of declining health. Her strength, determination, and the loving care from her children carried her through this difficult time.

Born and raised in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Valdamore and Mary (Gunning) Perreault and the wife of the late Peter Galvin, who died in 2006.

A graduate of St. Michael’s Academy in Hudson, Lori had been employed at the Marlborough Public Library in the Children’s Room until her retirement. Over the years she formed many valuable relationships with her colleagues, as well as children and their parents who were regular visitors.

An avid animal lover, she donated her time to the Animal Rescue League and gave more than one dog a happy home through the years. She loved to entertain and would light up a room when she entered. She has left many happy memories for her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.

Devoted to her family, Lori is survived by her children, Susan Galvin and her husband Roy Libby; Matthew Galvin, his wife Melissa and their son Finn; and Maura (Galvin) McAteer, her husband Sean and their children Mona and Malachy. She is also survived by her sisters, Veronica “Ronnie” McDonough and Patricia Martin and her husband Joe, as well as many relatives and close friends.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Feb. 26, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
