Hudson – The Friends of the Hudson Public Library will hold its first-ever “Lobster and Meat Shoot” fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 3 Palmieri Drive.
If you are not familiar with this type of fundraiser, and the word “shoot” mystifies you, the organizers said if you’ve ever played Bingo or Keno, you will be just fine.
There will be a cash bar, a Chinese auction for lovely baskets, and a 50-50 raffle. Funds raised from this event will be used to augment the work of the Friends of the Hudson Public Library, who support English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, passes to farms, museums, the PawSox and Lowell Spinners, zoos and purchases that enhance the library experience for children and adults.
Admission to the VFW Hall is free, but cards will be sold for the games. The lobster and meat prizes are from Kennedy’s Restaurant and Market in Marlborough.
