HUDSON – After a come-from-behind win against the Mid-Wach-A rival Shrewsbury Colonials in the opening round of the Sheryl Jones Memorial Tournament on Tuesday, the Hudson Hawks softball team fell in the championship game to the Nashoba Regional High School Wolves, 10-1, on Friday afternoon at O’Donnell Field.

The game was dominated by Nashoba pitcher Hannah Reardon, who struck out 18 Hudson batters, allowing just five hits. Lauren O’Malley went 2-3, registering a single and double for the Hawks; Audrey Lenox had Hudson’s only RBI.

“We didn’t play well, but I’m not talking that away from Nashoba. They played way better than us; they came ready and we didn’t… We’ve just got to refocus, reset, and get back into our routine. Sometimes games like this are a good thing – they kind of bring you back to Earth a little bit,” Hudson Head Coach Laura Bowen told the Community Advocate.

Lenox and O’Malley were both named to the all-tournament team. Nashoba’s Chloe Hughes and Jackie Matranga were also placed on the team alongside their teammate Reardon, who earned tournament MVP honors. The consolation game between Shrewsbury and Dracut was postponed due to rain and will be played at a later date.

Current Sheryl Jones Memorial Tournament Results:

Opening Round: Nashoba 18, Dracut 2
Opening Round: Hudson 6, Shrewsbury 2
Consolation: Dracut, Shrewsbury – Rain Postponement
Final: Nashoba 10, Hudson 1
