obit-david-craftNorthborough – David F. Craft Jr. passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016 after a long illness. He was 68.

He leaves his devoted wife of 32 years, Linda M. (Blackmer) Craft; his sister, Elizabeth Werkowski of Ellington, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Born and raised in Worcester, son of the late David F. and Eunice A. O’Brien Craft, he lived in Northborough for the past 27 years. He graduated from St. John’s High School, class of 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and served in Germany.

His career in the computer industry began in 1971 at Data General in Westborough. He worked there for 12 years as Hardware Design Engineer. He went on to work at Quantum Corp. in Shrewsbury.

His hobbies included piloting Cessna planes and racing motorcycles competitively.

Dave was a life member of the Southborough Rod and Gun Club. His proudest accomplishment was earning the Distinguished Rifleman’s Badge for civilian marksmanship in 1997.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, from 12-3 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette Parish, 266 Main St., Northborough. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
