obit-robert-w-curleyHudson – Robert W. Curley, 82, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at UMass Memorial Hospital – Belmont Campus, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Everett, the second of two children to William and Elizabeth Curley. He was educated in the Everett Public School system and graduated Everett High School. Later, he went on to earn his AS in Business Administration from Fisher Junior College.

Mr. Curley was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having earned the rank of staff sergeant. He was stationed at Royal Air Force Bentwaters Air Base in Suffolk, England during the Korean conflict until his honorable discharge in 1956. In August 1956, he married Yvonne C. Claireaux, whom he had meet during his time in England, moved to Hudson in 1963, and went on to have four sons.

Mr. Curley was retired and worked the majority of his career as a General Manager in the garment wholesale industry.

He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hudson. He coached youth baseball and was a loyal Hudson youth hockey parent and supporter. He was proud of all his 17 grandchildren, including six grandsons, all whom attained the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America.

He leaves his ex-wife, Yvonne C. Claireaux of Hudson; four loving children, Robert C. Curley and his wife Stephanie of North Attleboro, John C. Curley and his wife Roxanne of Sterling, William H. Curley of Shirley, and Stephen M. Curley, who preceded him in death (2015) and his wife Barbara of Jeffersonton, Va.; along with 17 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 16, from 4-7 p.m., at the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 17, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson, with internment to follow at Forestvale Cemetery.
