Marlborough – St. Mary’s Credit Union has been named the SBA Massachusetts Credit Union of the Year for 2016, according to a recent announcement made by Robert Nelson, Massachusetts District director of the U.S. Small Business Administration. This is the second year in a row that the credit union has achieved this recognition. The credit union was also awarded the Massachusetts SBA One Lender of the Year award for 2016.
“Credit unions have become an extremely important source of small business capital nationally and here in the commonwealth,” said Nelson. “We congratulate the team at St. Mary’s Credit Union for not only being named the Massachusetts Credit Union of the Year due to the high volume of SBA loan approvals obtained during 2016 but also for being the SBA One Lender of the Year given the number of loans the credit union processed with SBA’s new processing platform. Their activity in both categories are noteworthy.”
St. Mary’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending Nabil M. Farooq noted, “This accomplishment is the result of tremendous efforts by our Commercial Lending team. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to continuing to support local small businesses.”
