Melissa Vazquez, 37, of MarlboroughMarlborough – Melissa Vazquez, 37, of Marlborough, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

She was born in Waltham, the daughter of Manuel Vazquez Rivera and Haydee Fuentes of Marlborough, and was a graduate of UMASS-Lowell where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

Melissa was smart, outgoing, independent, funny and vivacious. She loved dancing and going to the beach. More than anything, she loved her family and friends.

She leaves her nine-year-old son, Ayden Manuel Reyes of Marlborough; one brother, Manuel Vazquez Jr. of Marlborough; four sisters, Diana Vazquez of Marlborough, Ivelis Vazquez of Dedham, Enid Vazquez of Marlborough, and Wanda Barreto of Randolph; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Thursday, April 13, at 9 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 12, from 5-8 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
