Shrewsbury – Richard (Rikk) Bilodeau, 75 of Shrewsbury, passed away all too suddenly Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Rikk was born in Lowell, one of two sons, to the late William and Rachelle Bilodeau. Shortly after graduating from Lowell High School, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country during the Cuban Conflict on the coast of Cuba. He proudly served from 1960-1964.
Rikk worked as a manager at Paul WF Wood, retiring in 2001. He loved retirement, but kept extremely busy. He got so much satisfaction from a job well done, whether it be a complete house renovation or preparing dinner for friends. He loved to sit by the lake or on the Ogunquit Beach with friends, sharing a cigar and stories. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to fish and drive his boat on Lake Quinsigamond. Rikk brought fun and laughter to any occasion. He was a lover of life and took time EVERY DAY to enjoy it.
Rikk is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (Francese) Bilodeau; his two sons, Thomas Korkidis of Cambridge and John Korkidis of Oxford; two step-daughters, Nicole Howell of Worcester and Jessica Vecchia of Pittsfield; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Victor Bilodeau.
Services for Rikk will be held privately and at a later date. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, is honored to assisting the family with arrangements.
Donations in memory of Rikk can be made to Disabled American Veterans.
