Adam S. Goodspeed, 36, of GraftonGrafton – Adam S. Goodspeed, 36, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 following injuries sustained from an auto accident.

He leaves his parents Nancy (Pocius) and Stephen Goodspeed; his sister, Sarah Glispin and her husband Brian; his grandmother, Rita Pocius; his former wife, Jennifer (Contois); his newest little buddy and niece, Haley Glispin; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his “boy,” Sombo, his beloved German Shepherd.

Adam was born April 14, 1981 in Worcester, and spent his life in Grafton and Rangeley, Maine. If you knew Adam then you knew that Rangeley was his second home and the lake was his church.

From an early age, Adam forged a bond with nature that would define happiness and peace throughout his life. His work ethic was built in the hayfields of Knowlton Dairy Farm next door to his home where he worked long days as a boy and continued as he went into business as a landscaper in Grafton where he built a reputation for exceeding the expectations of his customers.

He was an accomplished bow hunter having traveled to Canada and Colorado to hunt, he mastered fly fishing at an early age and when he was a true sportsman at heart, always showing reverence to the animals and the world around him. If you needed something built or fixed Adam was always there to save you time and money by doing it himself. For the circle that truly knew and loved him, his loyalty and authenticity were never questioned.

Adam had a great love of dogs and was always able to build trust with them even if others could not. His German Shepherd dog, Sombo, had an imposing presence, but was the sweetest pup in the world once Adam gave him a stern “it’s okay, boy.”

Adam will be missed most for his sharp humor, his love of family, and selfless nature.

Please honor Adam with a memorial donation in lieu of flowers to Timber Ridge Farm, c/o Nancy Goodspeed, PO Box 353, Grafton, MA 01519.
