Westborough – The next meeting of the Westborough Women’s Club will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 12 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 102 W. Main St., Westborough.
This month’s meeting guest speaker, Mrs. Zelda Schwartz, will present a great deal of information about the Worcester Institute for Senior Education (WISE) at Assumption College. The WISE program is a membership organization of seniors that provides varied stimulating opportunities for learning through many courses, lectures, field trips, social activities and more. Schwartz has been an active member of WISE since 2006 and serves on many committees including outreach, curriculum planning, and nominating. A light lunch and a brief business meeting will precede the program.
The Westborough Women’s Club is just finishing up the year of its 100th anniversary and is looking forward to continued growth in the year to come. The club supports many programs contributing to the betterment of the community. For this month, members are encouraged to bring a monetary donation for the Heifer Project to this meeting. Heifer International works to end hunger and poverty throughout the world.
Women who are interested in attending and/or joining the Women’s Club are encouraged to attend this program. For more information, call 508-366-0931.
