Barbara DeCarolisWestborough – Barbara Mary (Baker) DeCarolis, 91, a longtime resident of Westborough since 1950, passed away peacefully after a short period of declining health, Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. DeCarolis.

Born in Southborough, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Cronin) Baker. She was educated in Southborough schools and was a graduate of Peter’s High School. She also attended the Boston School of Dental Nursing.

In her early years, Barbara worked as a dental hygienist, then she worked at Westborough State Hospital before becoming a Licensed Occupational Therapist working at the Cushing Hospital in Framingham for over 20 years prior to her retirement.

Barbara was an accomplished artist and seamstress. She enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching and was an avid reader. She was a congregant of St Stephen’s Church Westborough. She was dedicated to her home and family and was a very kind and caring person.

She is survived by five children, Adrianne Ferragamo of York, Maine, Karen Chapdelaine of Northborough, John DeCarolis of Worcester, Jennifer DeCarolis of Grafton, and Peter DeCarolis of Westborough. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Michelle Healy, Troy Ferragamo, Annie and Hillary Keller and Zachary Forsberg. In addition, she is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Tatum and Cooper. She was predeceased by a grandson, Sean Chapdelaine  and three brothers, John, Lawrence and Adrian Baker.

The family would like to provide thanks to a couple of special caregivers at Beaumont, “Dr. Bennett and Mr. Baker.”

Services and interment will be private.
