Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Garden Club announced the winner of its 2018 Scholarship Award. This year’s $1,000 scholarship was granted to Aurora Koren, a 2017 graduate of Shrewsbury High School currently attending Smith College. Aurora is majoring in environmental science and policy. After attending her first year at Smith, she found her passion and will specialize in food production and distribution which includes farming and how natural and social forces combine to have an impact on disadvantaged communities. She is certain to use her education and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world.
The Shrewsbury Garden Club offers annual scholarships to Shrewsbury resident students studying in the fields of horticulture, landscaping ,environmental studies or related fields. Applications and information may be obtained at www.Shrewsburygardenclub.org
